Okay, the first returns are posted. In the local races, Congresswoman Mary bono Mack leads challenger Palm Springs Mayor Steve Pougnet,

In 2008, more than 266,000 votes were cast for this office and in 2006, the total was about 166,000.

In the Hemet School Board race, incumbent Joe Wojcik is leading, but Anza incumbent Phyllis Petri is trailing her challenger, Paul Bakkom
